Whenever I try to install Service Pack 2, it gets as far as the 'Inspecting' bit and then an error comes up saying

Close all other applications and then click Retry.

I've tried closing all of my other applications, I've been trying to install this thing for like the past 2 months, and I keep getting the same error. I've googled it and only found one person with the same error, and the feedback that he was given made absolutely no sense to me. I've had no problems installing the other updates, and Task Manager doesn't show any ftp.exe or even anything in system32.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
