Disabled Display Adapter!!! Help!!!
Yes I know this was so stupid of me to do this....
I have a Compaq Presario SR1230NX, which has Windows XP. This system came with a very basic video chip on the motherboard. So I bought an ATI 9250 to install in the AGP slot. The first install went great, the graphics were great, but then I started having alot of problems where the screen kept freezing every time the graphics were being used. So I uninstalled and while reading the manual for the new video card, I noticed it said to uninstall previous drivers before installing the new video card. So without thinking, I went into the Device Manager, and disabled the display adapter that is on the motherboard. I then proceeded to turn off the computer to open it up and reinstall the new video card. So then I turn the computer back on, and I get the "Compaq" logo on the screen, then I get the Windows XP loading screen, but when the time comes for the desktop to load, the screen goes blank. Although I can hear pop ups and can move the mouse around and click on things, I cant see anything!! So basically I screwed myself because now I can't continue the install for the new video card with the CD since I cant see anything on the screen to run the CD, and I also cant "enable" the video chip on the motherboard that I disabled since I cant see anything to get to the Device Manager. Ive tried every possible fix, I even had my mother on the phone while she sat at her computer and told me which keys to press to get to the Device Manager, but that didnt work... If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!!! Is there anything I can do outside of the Windows program to re "enable" the display adapter??
