I formatted my parents computer the other day because they had some major virus issues. Then when I went to use windows media player I noticed that it was not recognizing any audio devices or drivers. Then I looked in the device manager and there was a ? mark on the multimedia audio controller. I tried using the cd to install the audio driver, and it would not install. Then I could not figure out, which model I had so I went into the cd's properties, and found out that it was c-media 8738. I went online to find a driver for that model to d/l. I found one and d/l it to my computer. Once I d/l the driver I clicked on setup and box popped up saying that it could not install because there was no audio chip??? or something like that? Does anyone know what I should do. I know that when the computer was bought there was sound, so I know that there should be a chip there. PLEASE HELP BEFORE MY DAD KILLS ME! lol
