If you are using IE 6 browser, you can go to the "tools" tab - options - security - restricted sites. You can see there if any sites have been restricted and check your security settings as well for the different site classifications. The block program you had installed may have altered the settings. If in doubt reset everything to "default". Also, check your firewall for blocked sites and allow the ones you want.
