Hello all!
I have an xp system. I use a system drive and a SEPARATE 250g internal data drive. for the last year, i had been using that internal data drive as storage for both the host pc data as well as data transferred from a macintosh over a network. this was never a problem at all and always worked fine.
Recently, i had to wipe my system drive and reinstall XP. i never touched the data drive in the process. after getting up and running with the fresh install of xp, i look at my data drive. it has only 1 folder. that folder is empty. the folder name is the same folder that held all data transferred from the mac. again... the data drive shows one folder named MACSTUFF and its empty. none of the other abundance of folders and files are showing up at all. when i check properties on the drive, it shows that the 160g of space is still occupied, but this data does not show up in the windows explorer. i also looked in the command prompt to see if it would show the data, but no.
so the data is there, but there is a problem with windows causing it not to show up in windows explorer. im inclinded to link the problem with the mac data storage via the network because the one file that IS showing up is that particular folder. (however, its empty)
i tried to give every detail twice to help make things easier for any kind soul who cares to answer. please give any advice that pops into your head, as its imperative to get this data back.
thanks a TON
