I was trying to set up a home network so i could access files and my printer on my Desktop Computer. I did not have any luck with setting up the network i got something wrong so i will try again. My problem is now on my Laptop i have another Connection in my Network Connections above my Lan or High-Speed Internet and its called Internet gateway with a sub title of Internet connection. I can disable it but when i do i stops all access to the internet from thic Laptop. I tried to delete it but it says i You cannot delete a connection while its busy connecting. Please dissconnect or close login property page and try again. The connection that is within Internet gates way points to Linksys websight. Did i create this by accident when i was trying to set up a home network and how do i delete it.
PS: My desk top computer does not have the Internet gateway connection in it, only the Laptop.

Thank you

I discovered this new connection today and have never even heard of it before. If you click its properties and settings you may find that it allows certain connections to connect to your services and for me, it allowed mamy connections to msmsgs.exe, a program that some say is a virus/trojan (otherwise it is just MSN Messenger, but i dont think so). Even stranger is that the gateway would show me my downloads/uploads and that these counts were increasing at a much faster rate than that of my local area connection (and the other computer connected to my network is downloading nothing) which makes me worry that someone else may be connected to my wireless network illegally, or hacking me from the internet. I managed to rid myself of this internet gateway thingy by unclicking all the allowed connections in the settings box. I guess that this program was made SOLELY to allow unwanted connections into your computer and using that judgement it should not be allowed to run. Get rid of it! If anyone finds out more please inform me of it.
