I cant remember how many times iv forgot my password and had to do this. that or reinstall windows but i dont think anyone wants that joy.

Dude, did you understand the original question ?? if you loose the "Administrator's" password then that means you can't get in "Not even in Safe mode".....In your case, perhaps you did not have password for Admin but you had password for user profile.
