There doesn't seem to be a problem with Win XP. But with Win 2000 if u remove the device without doing "Safely remove hardware" u may run into some problems. For eg. if u transfer a file to a USB flash drive frm ur hard disk and just plug it out, the file disappears from the flash drive
It happened with me a couple of times
