Go back into device manager and see if there is any thing in there to do with your printer, also you have unplugged your printer from the usb port have,nt you, as microsoft does mention that, also look in your spoolsv.exe.
Failing that contact cannon who's contact no's are on there website.

The problem is solved.
I called Canon customer service and they told me that its a known problem where the unistall key for the old printer was not removed during the uninstall process. I erased that key and everything is working fine.
Since it a unique key, the search and regedit for : canon, multipass, F80, etc...) would not find it.
Thank you all for your help. The last advice "Hi if you cant find it? windows cant find it?" triggered to phone call to Canon.
