Same here
I just noticed this same problem. My windows media player won't open and tells me to reinstall and dosen't let me do that either because it says my windows is the wrong version. I thought I would uninstall it and see if that helped but the Icon in the control panel for add/remove programs although there, didn't have the right picture to it and would not open. I exited control panel and opened it back up and it was totally gone.
I have the file "appwiz.cpl" and downloaded the file Fix Add/Remove like listed in this thread with no success. I also did a virus and spyware check and still no fix. Not sure what else I should do.....
