This procedure seemed to work fine but after running Disk Doctor again in Windows the same errors remain as before. Any useful advice with this problem would be appreciated.

I had exactly the same problem with Disk Doctor (as part of NSW 2003) with Windows XP Professional. I tried to talk to Symantec about the constant errors in Security Descriptors and the file system, but they would only say that they no longer supported NSW 2003. I figured that the problem was that Windows XP didn't like NSW 2003/Disk Doctor. I just went out and bought NSW 2005 thinking that would correct the problem. I figured wrong. The exact same problem occurs. BTW, this is a fairly fresh install of Win XP. Symantec kept acting like they knew nothing about this problem and first gave me links to info about clearing out all remnants of NSW 2003. I did that to no avail. The so called "errors" still occurred. Then they were trying to get me to reformat and reinstall Windows. There is NO WAY!! I have been running XP with NSW 2005 installed for about 3 or 4 weeks now, and there is nothing wrong with my system. Also the hard drive is a new 300 gig Maxtor SATA drive. I'm convinced that Disk Doctor needs a doctor. Just wish I would have kept NSW 2003 installed and saved a bunch of dough for the newer (but little changed) version.
