Check Device manager to see if you have a problem with the sound device, go to My Computer > right click > select Properties > in System Properties box select Hardware Tab > expand Sound, video and game controllers > are any Yellow ? or ! marks shown.
if you know the make and model of your computer post back with details, if not download Belarc Advisor ( free programe )
