I will need to buy a new OS to gain the benefit of the 64 BIT structure but I'm not sure if it would be best to buy XP Pro 64 Bit when I start the build or wait until Vista comes on the market and start my build then.

Alternatively, should I stick with XP Pro for the time being and upgrade as and when necessary?

Any views much appreciated.

I would wait, M$ haveing big problems with Vista, could be another delay, they are talking SP3, and you know the problems with SP2, I waited 10 mths before installing SP2 so M$ could sort out problems. Also the longer you wait the more prices will come down. I have the Athlone 64 ( Venice ) dual core but also PCI express is the way to go AGP being phased out, so I would save more and upgrade when Vista is really stable. Just my opinion others may think differently, but this is a big step and you want the system to last more than a couple of years.

Hope this helps
