I'm completely new here, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'd be really, really grateful if anyone could help me out.

Go here http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=501&kind=1
scroll down to the Realtek ALC Series AC'97 Audio Driver and download the Win9x/ME/2000/XP version. Save it to disc, somewhere you can find easily, and make a note of it's name, then go to the file and double click to install.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case.
