hey bookworm i see how helpful you have been in this thread, im wondering if you can now help me
I formatted yesterday and now im having the same problem, with the multimedia audio controller having an exclamation mark next to it in device manager.
It was working before the format and is securly in.
Im sure I need the SiS audio 7012 drivers which I have. I uninstalled the multimedia audio device from device manager and restarted, the wizard installs the device using the beforementioned driver, but then it says:
"the name is already in use as a service name or a service display name"
