MS office 2003 professional edition [I really , really need your help on this one]

this is really really annoying and I'll try to explain as plain as I can.. so here we go..

I have windows xp, with 512 MB ram SP2 and lots of MS programs such as .net and visual studio AND also, office 2000 premium. I wanted to install office 2003 professional edition and during the install, when under action it says "Installing ODBC components" I get a little beep sound, like I'd get an error message and everything freezes. There are no error messages (except for that beep sound) and nothing, it just stops. Even when I press "cacel" and "quit installation" things won't move. I have to kill the install proces.

I thought problem was with ODBC so I tried to update Jet drivers and Windows installer but have everything up to date. I figured that maybe if I wouldn't install access things would go ok, but I get the same error no matter what I install.

I saw about 5 install proceses and killed one that was under "user name" SYSTEM and I got this error.. I don't know wether I got this error because I killed a SYSTEM used procesor or was that error message from that "beep" sound before.. but here it is: screenshot

I googled it and everything I found was useless. under microsoft support they give couple of reasons why this happened and they mention I'd have to have Windows NT which I obviously don't have. I tried to give all rights to all of the maps, still the same problem with ODBC.

I really, really hope you'd be able to help me. This is driving me insane..
