Hey, I hate to be the idiot who doesn't know anything, but I have the same lack of sound problem/ missing multimedia audio controller thingy. I did everest and for the driver it said "Intel 82801DB(M) ICH4(-M) AC'97 Audio Controller [A-1]" but I don't know if that is what you need.
