Sound Problem
Please read the entire thread first.
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs (My Computer > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs)
2. See if there is any glaringly obvious sound drivers or anything like AC'97
3. Uninstall these
4. Go into Control Panel > System
5. Once the screen opens click the Hardware tab
6. Then click Device Manager
7. Assuming that this is currently in its default state (devices by connection) click on the plus next to Sound, video and game controllers
8. Uninstall the drivers that you can (some of these, for example the codecs, cannot be uninstalled but try it anyway)
9. Once you've done so, restart your computer and install any sound drivers that came with your PC.
From the information that you suplied, it's hard for me to tell which driver exactly you will need. If you could specify a model, i could track the driver for you. Hopefully this will work, good luck!
