Thanks Bman for the info in Q329170 causing inordinate shutdown delay..
I uninstalled the patch and problem fixed..
Interestingly enough, I have two identical machines using same Intel motherboards and only one of them had the shutdown delay problem.. The other machine works fine with the patch installed...
Shutdown delays seem to be associated more so with networked machines due to the additional time it takes to quiese and close the network connections. Maybe that's what makes one machine have the problem and the other not have it.. The one with the problem is using the on motherboard Intel Pro 10/100 Ethernet adapter and the other machine is using a wireless adaper... perhaps the different network drivers in use could be a factor?
