New system, Can't get it to Work. XP Pro
Greetings everyone and Happy New Year. Please, I need help. I just build a new system but I can’t get it to work. I am not even sure if the operating system is loaded or not. It goes through all the basic steps in the set up process, such as selecting the time zones, etc., to include the last step in the installation which states, “saving settings” and then, “removing any temp files.” The system then reboots, the Windows XP Pro page/logo appears briefly on the screen for about 5-8 seconds but then goes away leaving behind only a black screen. It just sits there with no action. I have even left it there for a couple of hours and still no action. I have tried two different, original Windows XP professional CDs. I have formatted the Drive and started from scratch now over 6 times. I’ve tried loading it from the DVD and then from the CD ROM drives but still the same result.
System composition as follows:
OS: Windows XP Professional W/Service Pack 1.
Mother board: Intel Desktop board D945PVS Socket 775
Processor: Intel Dual Core D820 2.8 GHz
Chipset: Intel 945P
RAM: Corsair 2048 GB DDR2 533MHz
HD: Western Digital SATA 300GB
Graphics Card: XFX GeForce 6800XT
Thanks! Any help will be greatly appreciated.
