I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and it fixed the problem. however this was only a temporary fix, because when the computer restarted at some point. The issue reappeared. So i dont have working sound for Video Games, Audio files such as MP3's or Aol Instant Messenger. the system sounds still work though.
I mean i guess i can spend the rest of my life just uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, but id rather find out a way to make it a permanent fix.
i installed service pack for Windows XP, and currently about to reinstall the sound drivers once again.
If anyone has any useful information to put forth. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks |
Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Acording to ASUS the sound is a Realtek ALC850, a new driver just realeased, go here to get updated driver
