Well, what is so special about that forum ,, I would say nothing,, so go ahead and make it different then everyone else's forum. to start with you got to generate traffic first before people realize hey, I like this one a bit better .. so remove the compulsory registration, allow people post without registering and then after a Little while you could push the registration.

I agree with timekeeper on color issue:

"just a bit too red for my taste" not very easy on my eyes either

cheers

AZ when it comes to websites and building them critisism is not meant as being horrible but just what it is critisism.

Personaly i welcome it,as i would rather have people tell me what thye think of my websites look rather feel they need to be polite and make me believe they like the look when infact they do not.

The website is not being ripped infa his website has not been critisised his colours has,and the fact that he will not allow visitors to view his site unless they sign up. That alone is a big big mistake, infact the biggest mistake he could of made was not allowing access to his site.

But do not take it to heart mate, the be thing you could do is tell your friend exactly what has been said. A good friend would let him know, and i have no doubt you are a very good friend to him.

If you were to visit some coding forums and website building forums, and then read some of the tough critisism you would be surprised, and yet for all those people who were told there websites did not look this way that way, they appreciated the feed back and were able to make changes that only made there sites better.

I have to be truthfull his colours are not right, the red is in truth hard on the eyes, it does not do the website justice, the overall look is good he just needs to do 2 things, the first is allow access to his site and let the visitors decide to join up after they have poked around. and secondly change the colours the background should be neutral. White or cream or a nice light blue and black lettering is what i would of went for.
But his site like i say is perfect apart from those 2 small things.

I have a website infact i will have another in 2 weeks and i hope others would tell me straight what they thought good or bad.
So chill mate and tell your mate, i am sure he would appreciate you telling him what has been said.

Take care dude, don't let freindly comments look anything else than what they are..

Phil..

gee I missed this one... How could I ???

Azn_tweaker, you are such an idiot,, I was not making fun of the site, I was criticizing ? and what is wrong with that ? I believe criticism is bird eyes point of view, it is always good to look at a things with different prespective... They call that "constructive" , if you don't understand the difference between that and my comment then I'm truly sorry for you. Grow up

cheers
