Its a nice place looks good, one thing i fault with it and i believe it a huge mistake on his own behalf, and that is refusing anyone to read the boards unless they sign up.
You should tell him, that that is not the way to attract members or even casual passers by.
99 out of 100 who come across the site will not sign up just to see inside, so they will move right along, now if the forum was open for all to see then atleast a good percentage of casual passers will spend some time and read the forums and some will like what they see and sign up.
So telling your friend this will be doing him a favour..
Here is my FORUM
Tell your mate if he opens his forum up for visitors he will see a marked improvment, and for what i can see it looks pretty neat on the home page..

Very nice forum dude. I like the layout it looks cool. I just checked out some rooms and the place has a real nice feel to it. You have done an excellent job T.K. As you said mate, its better to have it open to passers by.
Good job. I will check past from time to time T.K.
I am so busy at the other forums i visit and post at, aswell as my own forum i find it hard to commit to any more. Shame there is so few hours in the day haha..
Keep up the good work T.K [thumbsup]

Thanks mate , I spent a bit of time adding hacks and modifications, still learning my way around vbulletin . Also, nice work on your own forum , keep up the good work :P, although I'm not really into politics, the bushrevealed.com site made for interesting reading though .
Nice forum azn_tweaker...just a bit too red for my taste :P.

You have done realy well T.K Adding hacks and mods is cool, i am so lacking in brains to go that road but i am still learning. Yep you have to an interest in politics or the stuff on my forum will bore most people silly Although my website is more about the New World Order, secret groups and cults in the highest offices of Government. And the secret government in America.
The 9/11 issue. Skuull&Bones what John Kerry and Bush are both members off.
Also the take over of America and turning it into a police state. But all political at the end of day..

Yeppers . I've just purchased another .com domain name with money I got for selling two vbulletin skins, and its most probably going to be www.networkedcanada.com the domain is purchased, and i have free hosting setup 500mb space, and 30gb bandwidth, cpanel, and stuff but i just need to confirm and set the nameservers.
Networkcanada is basically a portal/community for canadians, both who are skilled with the net, and beginners. It will feature news stories about the net from around canada, and offer interesting lists about the trends, and cybercafe's and stuff.
Unfortunately, I used up my license for vbulletin on stellarweb.net, so the networkcanada forums are going to be powered by Invision Power Board. Or maybe woltlab burning board..not sure, lol. I'll keep you guys posted . Thanks for your kind comments scouse

damn, Murphy's law applies again..Anything that can go wrong will go wong...
There's a problem with the host's DNS, it keeps saying ns1.digital-webhost.com cannot be registred, and it doesn't allow me to add in IPs as a alternative. any help or advice would be much appreciated.

They are a very clever group of people there is nothing they do not know when comes to websites/servers/scripts/FTP/DNS/ you name it they will help you.
You have to sign up but it is worth it for 5 minutes of your time, and in the future any more problems you have a p[lace to go
Good luck mate..Sorry i cannot help any otherway.

Azn_tweaker, here is a thing.... put your self in other peoples shows... would you join a forum you did not know about and before you know it you would forget about it.. right.
Well, what is so special about that forum ,, I would say nothing,, so go ahead and make it different then everyone else's forum. to start with you got to generate traffic first before people realize hey, I like this one a bit better .. so remove the compulsory registration, allow people post without registering and then after a Little while you could push the registration.
I agree with timekeeper on color issue:
"just a bit too red for my taste" not very easy on my eyes either
cheers
