Tell me a fish story
I'm an avid flyfisherman. My grandpa started me with a fly rod when I was about 12. I had a guide service in North West Arkansas for a few years.
A few years ago I was flyfishing in the Arkansas River in Tulsa Ok. I accedently snagged a 4.5' spoonbill catfish by the tail & landed it. ( I do have pictures)
Would like to hear your fishing or hunting stories.
Pictures optional. :-)

I have a couple short stories.
The first Walleye I ever caught was 31 inches. Pretty nice size (24-27 inches is average).
One day last year, we went fishing after my husband had a dentist visit. They prescribed pain killers for him (he called them "loopy doopy pills"). When the conditions are right (hot and very still) pesky little flies will hover around and land on you. Usually, you just ignore them. However, since he was "medicated", I guess he found them to be quite irritating. I was sitting there watching him flailing his arms around, trying to bat the flies off himself. All of a sudden, his glasses went flying. He batted them right off his face, they bounced off the side of the boat and into the water. We rushed to the side and watched them go down, down, down. LOL Too bad they were brand new prescription sunglasses.

DOH!!! blizey, what a waste of money!!! *LMAO***
I have a fairly funny story, Flyfsh, but at the time, it was hilarious. Naturally, this would only appeal to a fisher'person', or angler: -
I was night fishing with friends at a lovely private lake in, Essex, England. We were all leger fishing using Shimano Baitrunners (reels) and optonics (bite alarms), drinking plenty of Chianti and smoking lots of 'joints'. It was when I was a lot younger. Anyway, I ended up falling asleep aroung 3am in my comfy chair. All of a sudden, I was awoken by the loud shrill of an optonic, with the Baitrunner spewing out yards of line.
I sprang to attention and raced toward my rods that were in a rod-pod. As I approaced the rods, I started to slow down, however, my legs were not in co-oardination with the upper half of my body. This resulted in me jumping over my rods and having to dive into the lake, as I could not stop my momentum.
Man. I was soaked through to the skin. However, I was adamant that I was going to land that fish. When I eventually did, it ended up to be a 2lb Carp.........
Oh well, here's to the next time......*LOL*

But if you had placed it in the bath tub for a few days with regular cleaning of the water, it would have been quite tasty.

lol thanks for the stories. Jazz story reminded me of one too.
My brother & I were frog hunting at night in a local pond several years ago. In a moment of great intelegence we stoped at the local package store(liquor store) we left there with a 6 pack of beer and a pint of our favorite whisky. We had enough sence not to drink on the way to the pond, sadly to say thats where our sence quit working. After a few brews & most of the whiskey were downed we started making trips around the pond with our 22 pistol. Taking turns trying to shoot the frogs either of us couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. Thats the point we decided to get into a canoe & get them by hand. We put the pistol up & hopped into the canoe. We had a good night & had several frogs in the bag. By then several friends had came buy & were having a party by a big bonfire. By this time we had finished all the beer & whiskey & had what we call a "rubber grin" (thats a grin thats keeps bouncing back).
We headed t o the bank. Brother dear was in the front & we landed. He got out & told me to sit tight & he would pull the canoe onto the bank. With a big pull the 17' canoe shot up the bank about 15'. The thing rolled over dumping me the frogs & everything else in the cold water. What a site everyone there saw it. I spent the rest of the night in brothers size 44XL coveralls. I wear a size M.

i have not been fishing in a good while, but have done quite alot being i live in the southern united states. i been trying to think of some of the better things that happened....many things came to mind, but i will tell you about the time i was fishing for large mouth bass at grenada lake in central mississippi, i was walking along the bank trying to get to a spot where some brush came out of the water and there were serveral logs underwater when i walked up on the biggest frog i have ever seen, he was huge. he was as big as a regulation football. well i had a rubber worm on my line, so i dropped it on his head, he/she raised up and grabbed
it with his"hands" and packed the whole thing in his mouth, he/she did it fast too. my wife stormy was fishing back around by the boat landing and i called back to her and said, look what i caught, bout the time i held it up, it let go....well i dropped it on the frog again and it ate it again, i was able to show it to stormy that time. i knew they ate baby snakes and bugs, but watching them pack something in thier mouth is really funny. almost as funny as seeing stormy running from a snake while pregnant .( i will save that one for now).

This brings back a memory...When I was 4 or 5, my father put a carp in our bathtub. I thought it was pretty nice of him to bring home a fish that my brothers and I could play with.
Later, I remember them talking about smoking a carp. Well... I guess it was ok
