Mozilla Firefox???

Mozilla Firefox

I just downloaded this program about a weak ago!! I realy like it!! It runs alot faster then IE Explorer!! It's the best browser I've ever used. I have dial-up and some boards I'm on run way too slow!! Now that I'm using Firefox I don't have any problems with them?? I was wondering what everyone else thought about it!!

Good read bro!! I thing everyone should botcott it because it is Microsoft!! I think people should do this to all Microsoft products! I wouldn't have a problem with them if they would just get off there high horse!! They put too many restrictions on thier products to keep people spending money!! This will hurt them one day. People will wake up one day and realize there alot of products out there that are as good as Microsoft's and alot of these products are FREE!

http://www.opera.com/download/
opera is free if you dont mind the banner ad in the browser, if you pay for it the ad goes away. it's about $39US if you buy it.....opera has plugins for everything, plays online games, and has a huge selection of skins. you may not like it, but it's worth trying. most web browsers are not worth getting because they just surf the web...no plugins or dont have enough flexability to do anything. i use opera because it is secure for a few things firefox and IE are getting hit with.

I, too, prefer Opera over Firefox. Much faster, and better in the tabbed window department. I'm really getting to like M2, Opera's mail client.
I also like plain old Mozilla - it also has a fine mail client and some plugin support.
Each browser has its strong suits but none do it all well.

Ren, now you have it, if you click the tools option, then quick preferences, you can block pop ups, and what makes opera GREAT, identify opera as: mozilla (several versions to choose from) or IE6...make it site compatible with about everything. you should be able to look through the other stuff and find the clear cache and other things. one really nice thing is the pre-loaded bookmarks, when you are bored look through, they have some good stuff.

Hi there,

Just to add another suggestion in the box, give Maxthon a try. On my computer it's the fastest, and it's known for being good on resources. It comes with a large handful of features (ad-blocking, mouse gestures, etc), but my favorite is the side bar, it lets you have your favorites open to the side all the time. If you want, it'll hide the sidebar until you hover over the edge of the screen. I just have it open all the time since I have a widescreen display, and I have the extra space available.

Have fun checking out the new browsers!

P.S. Have a look at how much RAM firefox uses when you first load it up... 40MB for me...

couple years ago i was working on a win95 system with 16 megs of ram and was in pc solutions at paltalk on my pc listening to the chat while i was working on the old clunker and i asked in the room what browser wouldnt eat up all the system resources and just surf the web.........seconds later the room's owner told me to accept a transfer(good friend of mine, didnt worry about viruses from his files) and 64k later i had the "Techguy's Ghetto browser" it was a IE style browser with a address bar, a foward, back, and reload button...that was it used about 500k memory and surfed faster then anything you have ever seen. i used to see the "build your own" in the freeware sections but never had much time to think about it. i suspect they still have those, i will look later and see what i can post that might be fun for some of you to try.
