I think i am the cause
i have been thinking about this forum....i notice when i dont post for days when i am busy alot more different people reply to the post, when i am here and feel like posting i tend to take over...i dont mean to just trying to help. i do not post over other people's help(or try not to) so i dont step on what they have going. last few days i have been power posting and the forum is over run with my name and the regs are comming and going without posting........maybe i am killing what i am trying help...................... i didnt mean to run off anybody, i like to read others post, i dont mind if i am corrected......think i will just shut up,...........bye all.

You are wrong my friend. We do not answer the posts because we(me) do not know the answers.
I get tired of trying to figure out people's problems too. Most times I just want to come in and read the posts but I feel bad if posts do not get answered and people need help.
We all learn from you and the other pros.
Keep up the good work all.
And a Very Merry Xmas to all.

Re: I think i am the cause
s7p9a2m4 and Flyfsh are exactly right. The answers to more complicated question do not just fly of the top of my head. I try to choose the easier questions and even then, I have to research and verify my answer before I post it.
I also hate to see questions go unanswered and as a member, I feel that it's an obligation to try to help out, even in a small way. When we see a response posted by a "trusted" regular, we can feel comfortable using that advice ourselves.

For me, the reason i do not normally post in the same thread as PTO is because i see the name Play_The_Odds and know the problem has been solved!.
I do still read the question and answer, but only to learn for future reference.
You have to remember PTO, you have more knowledge than most of us on here so your 'Power Posting' is like a pc masterclass...Well for me anyway!
Keep 'power posting', You've got my vote

It's just that it's getting closer to Christmas and people are busy!! They just don't have much time!! When it comes to making alot of post, I've noticed that the more someone make, only contributes to the board!! It keeps people around more!! If there isn't nothing new then people don't stay long!! Don't worry!! After Christmas it will pick up more!! Just think of all the people getting new computers and will be having problems setting them up!! You'll see all kinds of SP2 problems!! Your only problem is, you don't have an avatar anymore!! I got one for you.......

Hi all, sorry I have not been posting. I have been playing a game, Harvest Moon A wonderful life. I checked my mail earlier today and had one asking me what was up with PTO. I knew he was depressed a little so I asked him, like always he said everything was fine. I read this forum earlier and seen he had removed his avatar which means he wont be back. I waited on him to go to work and I looked at his computer. He changed names on everything; all of his messengers, emails and he doesn't have this forum in his bookmarks AT ALL. Soooooo, I looked at what he did have, he went back to devshed. I called him on the cell phone and ask him what was up with all of that, he said "I would rather post in a larger forum and be not noticed as much. I'll talk to you more about it later."
I tried to like this forum but couldn't get into it much. This site loads so slow for me and I really do not know this stuff. I do like the chit chat but the site lags my AOL so bad it takes forever to load.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF PLAY_THE_ODDS.
I joined this forum in Sept 2002, a complete newbie to computers, and no spring chicken either. Perhaps you do no quite understand how much we learn from you experts, when I see you post , I read them, I may not have that particular problem but it does increase my knowledge and I make a note for future reference. I have also gained from help you have given me in the past , so as to you posting too much that is good, one comes to rely on the people who have the knowledge and freely share it with us. I posted a problem on 12/20 to which you replied to and I know I can follow that advice. I visit every day and go through the posts I am no expert but just sometimes I can redirect someone to the answer that you or someone else has posted. So you see you are not takeing over, just doing a great job of helping people like me. I really hope you read this message and have not decided to leave us for good.
All the best to you and your's for the festive season and in the future, wherever it may take you.

Sweet of you to respond, Stormy. He has been hinting about leaving for some time now. Hey, everybody needs change. He has been working on computers for so long, that nothing is new anymore so, the only way to change things around is to get involved in something new... which is good! As long as you're spending all day on a computer, you'd better diversify from time to time and make it interesting. Also sweet, that someone from here contacted you to see what was up.

Modesty too!
You guys take care, we'll see you around and have a great Christmas!!
PS Jump in and chit chat any time you feel like it, Stormy!

We always lose the geniouses. Njovin, grendel, dumdum, curtybob, and esaladuane (to name a few) are all sorely missed. There are many more who have come and gone that left their mark. Thanks all.

Back again, I have a bit more information on whats going on. DMC was looking for PTO and they have come up with thier own tech forum some how. PTO called me from work and asked me to load some stuff on his computer so he could access it. I looked at the site they are working on and I am amazed, it is really nice, and this has happened in the last couple of hours. PTO changed his name, but is not hard to spot.
P.S. Tool, I am not spamming but I am adding a link so they can see what those 2 are up to.
