Webcam over home network

Greetings,

We have a computer in my daughter's nursery with a webcam hooked up to it (USB). I would like to be able to view the webcam from the computer in my home office to keep an eye on my daughter while she is sleeping and/or playing. Both computers are networked via a linksys router.

Is it possible to view a webcam over a home network? Is there special software I need?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

A very crude but simple method is to use MSN messenger but im sure there are better programs out there
