A+ Certification Worth

Hi All,
I'm new to computers, relatively, and am interested in getting into the pc tech field. I'm learning as much as I can, self-studying A+ certification books and playing around with older comps and my laptop.
I'm curious if any of you out there have done the A+ cert route, what you think of that cert, salary levels for an entry level tech (location specific, I'm sure) and any useful tips/sites you can guide me to. I want to learn, and wonder what you have done to get your level of pc knowledge...

Well, it not a bad thing to get. If you do go ahead and do network+ also. Then go for MCP or MCSE, CompTIA Linux+, CCNA and then some thing like RHCE. I have all of those but RHCE.
