Nice to be back. Everyone was so patient with me. [They needed to be.] I gave up on the old PC, and bought another one. Now all I need to do is find another ISP. Can't get BB here, and I am so sick of AO Hell. I want 24/7, no time limit, and no cut-off and redial. Only AOL seems to do this out of the dozen or so I've checked up on. 120 hours a month is used up by my Grandson's Home Education, leaving me with 10 hours a month for me. The only unlimited ones I found cut off every 2 hours, which is useless. Just keep searching I suppose.

prs4u - I don't think I know you, or you know me, so I think your reply a trifle odd.

Thanks for the Welcome back. I hope I don't have to raid too many brains as this PC is OK.... except on Start-up it loses things from the Taskbar, and yes it is locked. I have to start up the Firewall, start up AOL, then reboot, and the icons are back and everything back to normal. I tried System Restore, but after a few days it loses the bits again. Disk Health Check coming up. YAWN!!!

Dragonmist,
Please accept my apologies for my silly remark - I just meant it's nice to see another face, hope you can forgive me. I hope your new PC it not too troublesome, I've just bought a new one, couldn't be bothered to make my own up this time, takes loads of time to ensure compatibility etc.
Anyway I had a strange thing happen for a while, the scanning on the 19" LCD monitor started playing up, seems to have settled down now, touch wood.
Take care.

prs4u. It's OK really, I just wasn't sure what to make of the comment.
Now the Firewall has gone rrrrse uppard, and I've had to use the XP rotten thing to come on line, and try to find another one. I tried loads of the free ones, but I really liked the Omniquad free one. For some reason it isn't stable any more. I cleaned it all out and downloaded another copy. Same difference.
I've used Omniquad for 18 months, and no conflicts with AOL, unlike some others I tried.
My monitor is only a 15" one, but I'm sitting fairly close so don't need a Home Cinema. How the h*ll does one keep these soft screens clean. I bought some overpriced screen wipes, and they left smears. At least the old glass screens could be cleaned easily.
Oh well, back to trawling for a Firewall.
