Photo File Size Reduction For Transfer To Mobile Phone

Hi Folks,

I need a bit of help please.

I have a Motorola E1000 mobile phone.

I am attempting to transfer some family pics (taken on my 5 megapixel camera) from the PC to the Motorola.

I have loaded the phone software on the PC and the pics transfer over OK. They will not however open on my phone and I get the message "cannot open, file to big".

These files were mostly over 1Mb each in size.

How do I reduce the file size on PC before transfer to the mobile?

I do not want to crop the photos too much if possible.

The photos are currently stored on my PC as jpeg images. Can I save them into a different and smaller file format that can be opened and viewed on my phone.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Satfanni.

There is a plethora of resizing and converting programs out there. What size and format of photograph will your phone accept?

Cheers m8.

Thanks for reply.

I eventually got it sorted. I downloaded "photo resizer" software programme and this seems to have done the trick. Are there any similar programmes for reducing the size of video files again for transfer to the mobile phone?

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

Regards.

Satfanni.

Photoshop, and even your friendly MSPaint.

Just open the 1meg file in paint and save as a JPEG. Overwrite it, and it will reduce the size dramatically.

Fahmain,

I cannot open any of the files in paint. I receive the message "This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported".

Any ideas?

Regards,

Satfanni.
