Need Help with cutting down music file size / length.

Simply put, I have a new phone which can handle mp3s, but I don't need the whole song for my ringtone, which take like 5megs each. I'd like to cut it down to the first 20-30 seconds or so. How can I do this? Basically how to cut down file size is what i'm asking.

Please help. I hope I check this, if you know how to help also i'd accept messages on my aim name, amitron89. I'm probably more easily reached there. Thanks in advance.

Use a software called total recorder:
http://www.highcriteria.com/

You can play the MP3 you like on your computer and run the software at the same time that will record you sound and then you can alter the saved sound (low tech way of doing it)
