I am a soldier loss one of his legs in Iraq and I came back to the homeland in the darkness of night accompanied with a lot of shrouds without any regard, and I decided to expose those who stole my life



As casualties mount in Iraq, so has the monetary cost of the war. The military is now spending more than $5.8 billion each month, top officials told Congress this week.

The Army, with about 110,000 soldiers on the ground in Iraq, has a monthly "burn rate" of $4.7 billion.
The Air Force is spending about $800 million monthly.
The Marines, which are spearheading the fighting in Fallujah, had an average monthly war cost of $300 million


The US goverment uses lots of methods to reduce the number of victims:

Only American soldiers are counted into the statistics, and even in this category they don't give the exact numbers

And what if we knew that the US government gave thousands of non-Americans promises of a citizenship if they fight in Iraq

and what if we knew that The US governenment uses thousands of american, british, and other bounty killers who work for the "special security companies" for high salaries and the US government isn't responsible for their safety

I know this isn't proper for this forum but it reallly burns me up. Sorry.

I am also an American soldier that has served in Iraq. No, I wasn't injured but I stood the same chance that you did. Although the people of the world have different views of the American military and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan you weren't forced to join. No one made you sign your name. You took the same oath that I did. Let me refresh your memory in case you forgot!

The Oath Of Enlistment, Reenlistment




I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the president of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the uniform code of military justice. When taking the oath, you accept the same demands now that American soldiers have embodied since the Revolutionary War. When taking the oath, you commit to a set of values:

Loyalty: Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit, and other soldiers.

I can appreciate your feelings, however, this is not the place for this type post!
I also served and did my 20 years. I did my time in Vietnam and had problems with it. I haven't heard of any of your generation being cussed at and spit on because you served your nation by going to Iraq or Iran.

I'm not a soldier nor am I American. So you can disregard my opions as you see fit.

I'd just like to point out that although when you enlist you do surrender certain freedoms and rights, and you are expected to do your duty by your country, equally you do have the right to expect things from your country in return.
You have the right to leadership that does not abuse or demean you.
You have the right to protection just as you have the duty to provide that protection to others.
You have the right to refuse to obey orders that constitute an illegal act.

A soldier should be willing to lay down his life in defence of his country, but the 'war on terror' has only served to increase that threat exponentially due to it's indescriminate nature.

Remember the Geneva convention established that blindly following orders is no excuse regardless of oath. You are still deemed responsble to act according to a moral code in addition to your code of duty.

Like you say ninety5eclipz you have to act in accordance with what you know to be right and true.

What part of the Iraq war does that cover?

I am a VET. I was in only 4 years, 1978-82 USAF. I was not subjected to any kind of combat. I fail to see the reason for your post other than to cause contrervercy. My eyes tear up when I see our troops leaving and comming back. I have so much respect for anyone that choses to join the armed forces by their own choice.
Your post is as valid opinion as anybody else. Keep in mind you as well as too many others to count gave of yourself so there can be posts like yours.
You and I will just have to agree to disagree on this topic. This is our right and what you fought for.

I agree with the person that said that it was your choice to join. I am a military wife. I have friends over seas in diff locations etc. It was their choice to join. By joining you know that at any time we could go to war granted supposedly most people now days only join for the college benifits etc but you get the paper work and are supposed to read it etc.
I know several people that have had their vehicles distroyed, they were spit on etc. I feel that is so wrong to do that to our military. They are owned by the US. They have to do what they are told to do, no questions asked (well now days they get away with more, aka a break card?! wtf?!)
anyhow my point is that everyone that joins the military has a choice in whether or not they join it.
