New Members
Hi … This is just a heads up towards being careful for members who are asking questions for a problem they might be having with their computer , I have notice this site lately is being attack by what I would call “ Non members “ These people would register with this site and become a member so that they can post spam or cause problems for others , There a few things what I would do to be safe ? First thing I would check is whether the member who is providing a solution is a new register member , I would check how many posts this person has posted , I would view their previous posts and see as to whether the person does provide help for others , If I see were the posters places an email address for you to email ? I would never email anyone who is a new register to this site , I wouldn’t click on any website that they might provide as well , Lastly I would wait to see if other real members would add their solutions or opinions as well, which most likely they will .
I think its best to be safe then sorry

1. check is whether the member who is providing a solution is a new register member
2. check how many posts this person has posted
3. view their previous posts and see as to whether the person does provide help for others
4. We would never email anyone who is a new register to this site (normally)
5. Lastly, we would wait to see if other real members would add their solutions or opinions as well, which most likely they will.

We (I) aren't saying that new members can't be trusted, because they can 99% of the time (and we will always thank them for it). We advise that you wait for a 2nd opinion if you are not 100% happy though

I agree and forgot to mention that, Thanks for adding it , That 99% of the time new members can be trusted , This message wasn’t just meant for the new members only but for all whom come looking for advise. To those >> NON members << that are trying to disturb or cause problems for this site, We the members here ( The Regulars ) will not tolerate your garbage , Go away and find yourself another place to disturb because this site has many good members here that will not tolerate your garbage. We will help keep this forum clean and safe from spammers

This is not a private club snooker. We do not want to discourage new members.
This forum exists so people can help people. People get into a jam and they reach out. Sure, it may be their one and only post.
Its up to you to pick out the spammers and trolls. Tool does a good job of cleaning out the garbage.
Good advice about clicking on links though.

I wouldn't discourage any members whether they are a first timer or not and its not a private club either bud, I'm just basically saying to the members to be careful because I have notice there is people that are just here to spam this site with porn sites , Also if a member needs some sore of help , These people only provide help if you email them ...
Yes The Tool does a good job with keeping this site clean but why not help the guy whenever you can too , right ?

this is my first post. just a quick observation on what i experienced on a linux forum.....i posted what i thought was a legit message but because the terminology wasn't satisfactory to the linux elitists, i got flamed.
i am not suggesting that would happen here because i have been visiting for more that a year...(prolly closer to two) and have never seen any actions like that. what i am saying is that new members should be welcomed and given a chance to prove themselves.

Hi Towser and welcome to the forum ... Towser if your terminology isn't correct ? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get banned , The Tools who is running the show to this site from what I have seen has never banned anyone because of their terminology, If you are a legit person ? I can't see you every having a problem
