FireFox 3

Hey all , I have always like IE over all the rest of the browsers available but I been using FF3 for a week now and it seem to load a little quicker . Have you try FF3 yet ? This is a first time for me to actually like it . What do you think about FF3 so far ?

the best bit about it that it that it checks spelling and grammar!

That isn't saying anything, except it's better than the worst. Open your eyes to the proliferation of other browsers available.

I did give it a go, even to the point of installing some extras. I'm writing this comment with it.

Loading, while faster, is still slower than an IE based browser, particularly when you add a few plugins. First startup, even on a raptor/C2D, when it loads from disk, is obviously longer. On a slower system it's going to be an annoyance. Since FF isn't part of the OS to start with, that isn't going to change. More plugins, more delay, more memory use.
As it stands now, FF is using 3 times the mem of my usual browser. Not a concern to me at this point, though it may be to you.

Tabs are still too rudimentary. Everything I click opens in the same tab, unless i middle click of course. Plugin needed to do anything useful. Even then it doesn't do. It's the biggest single reason I don't like it. Too much messing about.
The menus are too fidlly.
Add handling not good enough. Needs a plugin (again!)

Not on it's own here, but why don't IE favs import into the bookmarks root, instead of a "from IE" folder? Plus they were all messed up.

Many of the add ons, like other browsers, are bye the bye. facebook and all the other such sites.
One stands out for me. Noscript is one plugin no self respecting FF user should be without. needs a little understanding to use it fully, but a very nice addition.

FF isn't a bad browser. It just doesn't work for me. There is nothing there that makes me want to jump to it for ever. Quite the contrary.
To be honest, I prefer Opera over FF, even though I don't use that either.
