My Xerox Digital Scan Copier does not work in Windows XP . I have installed Windows XP and ME so when I need to use the scanner I boot in Windows ME .
I like Windows XP because it is more stable than Windows 98 and Windows ME .

I bought two printers and neither downloaded drivers would work! I had to sell the printers on Ebay because they were "used." It was so frustrating and a waste of a lot of time! I finally bought a printer that was made for Windows XP.

Good old Bill ehh!
Hasn't done me any harm. Nothing but love for the guy.
As for XP. Best thing since sliced bread.

I hear your cries my friend. Maybe something that will satisfy your need for justice is that video clip of Bill Gates getting pies in his face, its floating round on the net somewhere you should try looking for it.

I hope you're not asking me, since I have absolutely no idea. Reading various BB's, I decided on redhat.Rightly or wrongly. I'm just getting it to do a couple of things. I'm not a gamer, so that issue doesn't apply. Maybe we can start a new thread and let this one die.
augie
P.S. Disk_contented, I am using XP and only made a joke. XP is good.Since 95% of installs are M$, they will get hit on the most. But I can't afford XP yet, so I'm trying to work with Linux.

My second post.
In my company, several of my co-workers have already upgraded to XP. Most of them are not happy with it. Although it is more stable than windows 98 or ME, its probably not as stable as windows 2000 professional. Not yet at least, remember Win2K has been through 3 service packs and has seen many upgrades over 2 1/2 years. Also, we had some backwards compatibility problems with it. For some reason an ActiveX component we were working with would not fully function. There's not alot you can do with XP that you can't with Win2K also, so you might want to hold off on the upgrade to XP until some more patches are released, or not upgrade at all if what you are using works already.
As for Bill Gates. I almost feel like XP has high specks and dosn't support all hardware just to get people to upgrade it. I don't like that. There's are also some other issues that bother me. I don't like how Windows Media Player is bundled into it, and I'm not sure about what 9.0 is doing behind the scenes. This is not good business.
As for Linux. Linux really is a great OS, it would be great if more people were using it. I have been using Mandrake 9.0, but plan on trying out Redhat 8.0 soon. My first month with Linux was painful, but once I figured it out, I fell in love with it. I don't think I'll ever look back. Which distro is best depends on your needs. For a beginner, Mandrake, Lycrosis, and Suse are supposed to be the easiest. Redhat seems to always be the fastest in supporting the latest software/hardware, and is probably the most used.

Try Linux Mandrake. Very stable much more user friendly now.
