Blank CD Media Quality

I've noticed my stereo equipment will play some media just fine and others not at all. I know all blank media is not equal in quality.

Does anyone know of a site which gives reliable evaluations of the various media generally available to the consumer.

the only disk i have had problems with are the really cheap(no lable) they look the same on both sides, as far as the rest, i have noticed if i slow my burn speeds down to 8x the media plays better in my car cd player and on my dvd player when i burn a vcd, i am to cheap to buy a dvdrw and the disk for it, cdrw are not worth buying anymore, to me anyway, i have had them just go blank sitting in a jewel case, can use it again, but the media/files stored just vanished, and being that cdr prices are so cheap, just use a new disk everytime.
