Linksys router

Anyone considering a new router should beware the linksys BEFSR41 version 3. I was fighting with one for a couple of days till I found out online that others were having similiar problems. Any other version is ok and a new firmware release will most likely fix version 3.

Looses internet connection whenever, for no apparent reason. The Broadband Report website has several people complaining of the same thing.

Quite annoying to say the least.

Beeboy

Is this one ISP that has issues or several ISPs?

As you know I have been running the same router (Linksys BFSR41 V.2) on a cable network for a long while without problems.

I upgraded the Firmware to version 1.45.7, Jul 31 2003 last weekend without any problems (apart from my inability to tell the time).

You are ok with version 1 and 2. It is just version 3 that is giving all the trouble. It does not discriminate among isps.
