i hear many people say norton is the best, dont know where they get their info from. the box that it comes in says it's the best known, but not the best. it is software and subject to the same problems all software have or get infected with.

I'm with you KC. Any hacker will look for vulnerabilities in the most popular programs like Norton, Mcafee, Outlook, Messenger, and Internet Explorer. One is much safer using less popular programs.
If you want to infect as many computers as possible who are you going after? Norton of course.

i change often, it's hard to stay with one particular one anymore. what works great today dies after a microsoft update, and new threats make them obsolete, have to get a whole new version. i dont understand why they sell subscriptions to update for example norton 2002. the engine is out of date. they update it but it is still not going to be the security people think they have. i get almost sick of people saying "i have the latest virus scanner so i know i dont have a virus." how many times has that been proved wrong by a on-line scan, or a trojan scanner?

Norton Internet Security flaws

Using the Norton a/v in NortonSystemWorks 2004 which is automatically updated. I tried using a secondary a/v program, Vexira, but I found conflicts which created a situation where I could no longer open downloaded programs. Inevitably I do not feel entirely secure, but it is difficult to find anytrhing better. XPpro.
