i use xp pro on my personal systems, have tried about everything though, even lindows and it is a long way from being a major player. i used to dual boot with linux, or suse when i had the bad idea i could possibly program. now back to just windows, everything works on it, and besides, i just post here, voice chat and play games on my home computer anyway. i liked linux based systems for stability when i depended on the information i was putting in being there when i got done, and running it was much easier on linux systems. windows always gave me the infamous "this program has caused a illegal opperation and will now close" screen when i ran my stuff. windows has come a long way since 98, when i hear people complain about xp, it's because they dont know how to set it up and use it. i dont like having to reinstall/repair just to swap a motherboard, but....i am used to it.

I use Windows XP Pro as a desktop and I run SuSE, Xandors, Windows 2003SBS , and Windows 2000 in the VMware,, for the longesttime I had Win2k and very happy with it too and finnaly I moved on to Windows XP Pro, and Outlook 2003 (that drives me Nuts)... Over all I was happier with Win2k the WinXP.
cheers

Windows 2000 was always great for me too but only after I put SP4 on it. The Original 2000 did have a few probs.

at work the server has 2k3 on it , the only thing i dont like is windows media player 9, i wish they had not added it, removal of it is not a option because it causes errors with other things.

I will remember that. That is typical of Microsoft. They like you using as much of their software as possible
