BIOS Upgrade

Seeking Upgrade for Award v4.51 PGM for Aopen AX6L motherboard. Machine is running ME, 233 Mhz. The download I have starts but will not finish flash install.

Upgrade needed as Modem installs only to Com 5 and only com 1 and com 2 exist.

com1, 3, and 5 share the same irq.
in other words, as long as you don't have anything installed on com1 you should be fine. I doubt a bios upgrade will have an effect on this as the com port is assigned by windows in your case. Simply config your application to use com5.

after looking at the bios page for this board, updating it does seem to be something that needs to be done.

http://download.aopen.com.tw/downloa...o.x=10&Go.y=12

the manual for this board is located on this page

http://download.aopen.com.tw/downloa...ionfun=typefun

once you download and extract it, and if you have acrobat reader or other pdf file reader open the file named AX6L-AWD, and it will have the full instructions on how to update the bios for this particular board.
