Sound Card Driver?

Hi everyone, I've reinstalled Windows XP Pro and find that my sound card isn't working, apparently it just needs a driver but I don't know where to start.

It's a Netgear card but I can't recall what else it's called.

Can anyone help me please?

Netgear is a network card
What brand of PC do you have?
What's the model number?

When I opened my computer to check what kind of sound card I bought when I built my computer it does not have any name brand on it. How can I find out what kind of brand the sound card is to get a driver for it?

Does Device manager list your sound card?

If not
You can take it out look for model number
sometimes the brand is etched into the back of the board itself look closely
Look on the chips as well

Download either Everest (replaces Aida32) or Belarc Advisor. Both are free and once installed and run, both will tell you a lot about your computer's components...including the make and model of the sound card. You don't need them both. I provided links to both so you can choose which to get.

Do the software just look at the "Device Manager" and display the results? or Does it actually go to the hardware and display the brand, model#, etc?
I just had to reinstall a PC but I don't have the model# or brand of the video card but would like to find out without opening the case and "breaking" the seal to keep the warranty valid.
