usb controller

hi everybody
can we update the usb controller OPENHCD ?

what do you mean by saying you want to update it ??? Do you want to change it USB 2.0 from 1.1 ? Are you asking if you could change the hardware itself ? if you explain what you want to actually do then we may be able to help you out better.

usb controller

I explain
I ve connected a scanner to my pc and it's detected as unknown device
maybe I ve to update the usb driver
so I asked if it's possible to update the openhcd driver

Here is the thing... If you have Windows 98 (original Release) then you may want to get the proper driver for your USB Bus... I don't thing that is the case for you.... If your hardware (in this case a scanner) is recognized by your computer but your computer does not know what kind of device is connected on the USB Bus, that to sound like a Scanner driver issue rather than USB driver, Even if you have the driver for the scanner on the CD, I would suggest you to visit the Scanner MFG's site and get the latest driver.

I'm ok with you when you say I must have the driver updated for the scanner
I ve tried this scanner on my 2nd PC which have the usb controller sis 7001 and it worked fine
just one thing in case of usb sis 7001/7002 , intel 82801 ab.., ali ...we can update the usb driver
but in case of the openhcd is it possible ( cause I don't know who is the constructor ? )?

I think you are under impression that openHCD is a brand name and that is what creating the confusion,,, the generic name for Standard PCI and USB Host Controller is identified in the operating system as openHCD.... that's how Microsoft Operating system identifies it.
