ATI-AIW graphics driver & directx 9

ATI - AIW 9600-128

1. Every time I try to record a TV program I get a message that says I need a graphics driver. I've downloaded a/the driver from ATI several times but nothing changes.

2. I just got The SIMS 2. I won't run. Says I need directx 9. The ATI box says it's directx 9 compatable. Where do I go from here?

TIA

Ken

1. have you tried uninstalling the drivers, then installing the ones that came on the cd with your video card? other then that im not sure..finding drivers for me is about as easy as climing mnt everest with your teeth..

as for your second question, you may not have directx 9 installed on your system, although the video card is compatible. you should prolly pickup the newest version of directx9 from microsoft.. its located somewhere around here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

that shoudl hopefully help you with the sims at least might i add, the sims 2 is a really good game, you wont be dissapointed. it was worth every penny i paid for it...and i actually bought a game for once!
