Please help before I kill my printer

I recently purchased a Lexmark Z515 photo inkjet printer at Walmart for a very inexpensive $35. When I got home, I unpacked the printer, which is a USB printer. I followed the directions on the sheet provided, and inserted the CD as instructed. The intall program comes up, I click on the Install button, and InstallShield runs. When it's done running, a dialog box opens that tells me it's preparing to copy files to my system, then closes.

It is on the XP HCL, and I tried downloading the driver directly from Lexmark. Still no joy. Please, if someone knows a fix for this, I would consider you a friend for life ^^. Or at least my hero of the day!!

I suggest calling their help line as I've been told they are pretty good at helping customers to resolve such issues.

Yeah, Ive had a Lexmark before, and thier customer support is good, but I gotta wait til 9am Monday ><. Oh well, thanks for the reply. Maybe it's just a fualty disk.

You have to unplug the printer from the computer to update driver properly. It also good to go to System, hardware, device drivers and uninstall your present printer, when you install the new software if will find a printer and you should be good to go.

Try this it may work, it worked on my hp DeskJet.
