hard disk problem?

Hi all! my computer have 80gb...512mb of RAw.. 2.40GHZ. i wonder why my computer run very slow when i installed some software or some games? i heard it from my friend he said that i should change my hard disk into S-ATA in order to make it faster..

Your RAM and CPU shouldn't be causing slow running - both are quite reasonable on a mid-range PC. However, for gaming you need a powerful 3D video-card and you haven't mentioned it's spec. Also, a fragmented disk can slow down your system, as also can a boot disk which is getting full. Buying a SATA disk is pointless unless your mobo has a SATA controller - only new mobos have them.
