Smile Toshiba Modem Amr- Error no 633

Good morning,

I have a Toshiba Laptop (Satellite A30 -400). It has a inbuilt Toshiba Modem Amr, which as you all know uses COM3 port.

I was unable to connect to the dial up system after i came back from holiday.
I have not made any changes to my laptop or have uploaded and new software. It was working fine for the last 1 yr.

The error says:
Error 633: the modem is already in use or is not configured properly.

Then I had a look at the device manager/systems/toshiba modem amr and pressed query modem.

I got the error message:
Could not connect to the output port. There might be a hardware conflict.

================================================== =
The only thing i can think of is to upload the toshiba driver amr.

If you guys have any advice regarding this, it will be much appreciated.

I reallly need to sort this out. I get bored in the evenings without the net.

have a nice time,
cheers,

Red face error 633

Dear all,

The text of malwajatt could be mine!! PLEASE DOES ANYBODY KNOWS WHAT TO DO???

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro with an AMR modem inside. 6 month old
And once in a while a need to connect to the Internet by telephone line.

Everthing was working fine untill I recieved an error 633. After checking the hardware configuration I discoverd that 1 of the HUB-contollers showed a yellow alarm. Tried to remove it so PnP could build up the right software again. But it failed.

After reading a lot of articles on the Internet, and reconizing a lot of the discribed problems, I think I have to conclude that the drive is corrupt and/or my BIOS version in not in sync.

None of the articles or knowlegde bases give me an answer. Could you?!!

Thanks a lot in advance.....
