aup, hav u tried installin em manually?
If not:
Go to 'control panel', click on 'printers and other harware', and find 'Add hardware' (towards top left of screen on if using XP)
Hav the harware devices plugged in. When 'Add Hardware' is selcted, an installation 'wizard' should appear. Click next, let it search, then 'Yes, I have added the hardware'. this should then give u a list of all hardware devices that haven't been installed yet. Select urs and istall em.
GUD LUK!

yes have tried this, but the computer isn't regestering anything at all in a usb port, even with camera switched on. There are no usb ports listed in device manager either, so i can't update or rollback the drivers.

Hav u checked in BIOS to make sure that all connections are 'enabled', or even there. I think u wud be able to find them under 'Advanced Settings'. At the mo, sounds like ur computer hasn't had USB ports enabled.
