You can try setting your hardware acceleration down one notch and set your display color to 256. But the card is probably hooped or you could have a stick of bad ram. You can also check your virtual memory settings as well - let windows manage it or set minimum and maximum to 384 depending on the amount of ram in your system. Also, if the games are older try playing them in a different compatibility mode. Hope something helps. And did you trouble shoot your card in "display" or device manager?

Type "dxdiag" in the run dialog and see if any probs are reported.

Hi = New Registered user here. I found your forum impressive and thought perhaps you might be able to help me.
I am a volunteer computer trainer for our very small isolated community. And finding tech help is difficult.
I bought a new computer and gave my old one to a neighbour after I did the following upgrades:
Computer: Cicero with MSI Gibson 6533G w/lan motherboard (video/sound on board I believe)
Intel P4 - 1.6AGhz 512 cache
Upgraded from Windows XP home to Pro on formated newer hard drive
Upgraded to newer CD-Rom and New DVD
Upgraded Award Bios to latest for that board (had to purchase it from Award)
I installed the audio/video drivers from the original Cicero system disk. The drivers installed for audio were Avance AC97 and Legacy
Everything seemed to be working fine when I gave it to my neighbour.
He tried installing a game called "Sid Meier's Pirates". Installation stopped because of inadequate display driver.
The system has more than the minimum for thise game. But I did upgrade the display driver (Sis -650=651-M650-M652-740)with no problem and the game installed successfully.
When we tried to play the game, the system froze, had to hard boot to get up and running again. I checked to make sure DirectX 9 was installed, it was, it didn't find any problems with my devices. However, when I checked the system hardware and the Avance AC97 audio, windows said is was working properly, but I could not update the driver because windows said it does not recognize this device and could not install the driver. What is there says its working properly. I believe the problem is with the audio/sound drivers, but I do not know where to go to update them. I have contacted MSI, but no reply as to where I can get the updates. I also read here somewhere that my chipset should be updated before updating the audio? Can anyone help?
Thanks so much for your time.

It's me again:
I have a Dell with Radeon X600 SE
Is anyone else having a problem with the ATI updated driver? I get an error: could not load file or assembly MOM.implementation version 2.0.2637.38862. I was advised to roll back the driver to the older version, that this was an ATI driver problem. I did that, but it didn't work. I still get the error. It doesn't seem to effect my system much. But then I don't know what the MOM.implementation is.
Thanks again
