Laptop Wireless Configuration

Hello:

My Compaq Presario 2200 laptop was recently reformatted. Although my laptop has built-in wireless capability, my laptop wireless network no longer connects since the reformatting. Would you please tell me the step-by-step instructions to connect wirelessly to the Internet? (e.g.: Go to "Start", then "Control Panels", etc....") Should I install Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter; is it necessary for wireless connection?

Thank you very much!

Patrick
