By the way, I have installed and reinstalled my sound card drivers and changed the slot that the soundcard and graphics card are in but it doesn't make any difference.

This board has optional onboard sound, what is shown in Device Manager for your Sound Card as your Belarc printout does not show a Sound card, what does Belarc show under Multimedia and Disply.

It is showing your onboard sound card, you say you have changed slots for sound card, what is that sound card. Can you look in Device Mamager and check if it showing any other sound card. If another sound card has been installed then the onboard sound will have been disabled in the BIOS.

It's the Creative Soundblaster Live. In the Device Manager it lists Legacy Audio Drivers, Media Control Devices and the Creative SB Live

Your driver for sound is here it is Creative CT5880 http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/...ver_GA-8TX.htm

There is also this driver from Creative Soundblaster http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...s/download.asp

Create a SYSTEM RESTORE point just in case

Hope this helps

It doesn't seem to have changed anything, only when I uninstall the driver does the feedback go away but as soon as I install it it comes right back again. Plus the only sounds that work are Windows default ones, I still get the same message in WMP.

Take a look here, it has the driver from Soundblaster but tells how to check in the System32 folder to make sure you get the correct driver http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...pe=1&details=1

Again create a System Restore point just in case

Hope this helps

Is the file no 5.12.01.4113, if it is then this is the file you downloaded from Gigabyte site. I would make a System Restore point and install the driver from soundblaster.

back in an hour

hope this helps

Have you checked Win Update to see if they have a driver update listed, just a thought.

See post above I would give it a try, don't forget the restore point.
